Clients e.g. TotalEnergies, Vivo Energy & Rubis Energy. Therefore, the company has signed contracts in place with the clients.

Company Operations range from driver management, vehicle management to HSSEQ being the core of operations given “Safety” is the license to operate in the Oil & Gas sector.

Company operations are centered to On-Road Operations thus having compliant drivers and truck is mission critical to our success and continued progress.

Driver Management: Recruitment Policy

Defined recruitment process, sign off by both employee and management
Expression of need by the responsible manager in case of a vacancy
Driver selection requirements e.g. 25 years min, 50 years max, 5 years experience, driving license and class, reference from last employer, school certificate

Driver turn over
Top management must be effectively in recruitment of drivers i.e. OM,HSE &HR must be involved in the recruitment process
No criminal record on driver if any is be justified

Test on literacy ( written and verbal) done through company application form, written tests/assessments, hand written application letters etc.
Medical check for driver and paid off by the transporter at recruitment and every two years
Driver mentor appointed and conducts driving tests on new drivers
Follow up on driver age medium and anticipate retirement.
Driver helper or spare drivers should be in place
Contract signed by the applicant driver
Driver recruitment process and signed off by Top Management

Driver Management: Training & Competence Assurance

Training program procedure or policy are in place
Yearly training plan and schedule done by HR & HSEQ
Attendance signed off by the trained drivers
Employment induction policy i.e. driver induction e.g. 1 month induction
Practical trainings with assessments
In house training by HSEQ i.e. hygiene, wheel choking, vehicle inspection, policies & procedures, HIV & AIDS awareness, Health awareness.

Transporter driver's handbook written and handed over to driver against signature
Hazardous training is done with suitable material and certified trainer
Coaching in the cabin done by the driver mentor
Well defined Toolbox meeting with drivers
Firefighting, first aid refresher training is done at least once a year
Fatigue refresher training is done in TBT & in case of continuous violation

Vehicle Management: Maintenance

For On-Road Fuel Tankers

Availability of in-house mechanic with relevant trainings
Staff in charge of tyres and tyre replacement
Availability of spare parts in the warehouse (stock valve should relate to the fleet) and spares bought
Management of high risk works ( degassing & cleaning ,welding etc) and procedure in place
Management of sub-contractors if any in term of quality of service
Maintenance is be linked to tracking breakdowns, violations, training needs and operations-driving hours etc)

Vehicle Management: Control

Maintenance control procedure (corrective and preventive maintenance controls)
Before trip inspections are done by drivers and defects followed to order for spare parts and maintained with the job cards
Trucks inspected after every road trip and released for any new trip unless all the necessary fixings have been rectified.
Maintenance program exists for Service internals for cabin and trailer following manufacturers recommendations or specifications
Corrective maintenance is followed ( i.e. failures/defects and costs done and linked to operations and vehicle database)

Fifth wheel preventive checks are performed every 20,000km or as per the manufacturer's specification( i.e. 2mm replacement recommended)
Costs monitoring and segregation between corrective and maintenance
Use of SAP is recommended ( other tools or systems)
Fuel consumption is followed and analyzed
Monitoring truck availability or trend ( number of drops, truck utilization monthly quarterly and yearly)

Vehicle Management: Brake Efficiency Test

Key Points:

Service brakes should score at least above 43% while parking brakes should score at least 18%

Procedure for monitoring and treatment of OBCs
OBC invariants are consolidated, managed and monitored through OBC Guide
All trucks fitted with OBC from MIX Telematics

Hired personnel i.e. OBC controllers are available for fleet monitoring
Monitoring of violations at least per hour and reports available
Toolbox meeting with topics about OBC system
Sanction of drivers in case of OBC disconnection
